Alex M Adamson LLP Becomes an Accredited Living Wage Employer
December 2017
We are pleased to announce that AMA have been accredited as a Living Wage Employer, meaning every member of our team not only earns the national minimum wage but the real living wage. This is an hourly pay rate based on the true cost of living which is calculated annually based on living costs in the UK.
We believe that every member of our team deserves a living wage for the hard work that they do here at AMA. Stuart Hunter, Owner of Alex M Adamson mentions:
“We are very conscious of the positive impact that becoming a Living Wage Employer can have for our employees and, indeed, the local community, both of which we are always keen to support and develop.”
Kevin MacKay, General Manager at Alex M Adamson, also welcomes the benefits the new accreditation brings for both employees and clients:
“One of the key aspects of paying the Living Wage is that we are able to offer new starts a better package which has benefits for recruiting and retaining staff in the longer term. We are very focused on providing our clients with the best possible service. Being able to attract high quality staff and hold on to them is essential as it allows the time for them to fully develop their skills, ensuring they can handle all aspects of their role confidently.”
Becoming a Living Wage Employer reinforces AMA’s focus on continually striving to become a leading employer in the debt collection industry and adds to our accreditations which support this movement. Victoria Welsby, Collections Manager added:
By committing to the Living Wage at an early stage we have reinforced the positive development and improvement approach throughout the organisation which resulted in AMA achieving Gold IIP and Silver IIYP awards.”
Katherine Chapman, Director of Living Wage Foundation said:
“We welcome Alex M Adamson LLP to the Living Wage movement as an accredited employer.
Responsible businesses across the UK are voluntarily signing up to pay the real Living Wage now. These businesses recognise that the Living Wage accreditation is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like Alex M Adamson LLP join us, because they too believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay."
